Mark Peterson will resign as CEO of NZX at the end of April 2026 following the exchange's annual general meeting. His departure concludes a nine-year tenure marked by strategic expansion, including the launch of NZX Dark and S&P/NZX20 Index equity futures.

Under Peterson's leadership, NZX Wealth Technologies achieved cashflow positivity from external clients. The executive cited completion of key initiatives and strong organizational fundamentals as rationale for his planned exit.
